Student Loans

Student loans are actually a part of the Education Loans intended to provide financial support to the students during their course of study in any college or university. By definition, Student loans are offered to students to assist in their payment of the costs of their professional education. These loans carry a lower interest rate than other loans and are issued by the government. These loans are often supplemented by student grants which do not have to be repaid. Keeping in mind the requirement of new age education system, this system of finance serves as a great financial tool for the students to fund their education in proper manner.

Bank Loans in India have finally come of age and are now not just confined in serving to the home and business loan transaction. Student loans are regarded as one of the fastest growing retail banking product. Almost all the public and private sector banks are offering student loans at attractive rates for meritorious students for studying both in India as well as abroad. Loans are also available for graduate/postgraduate/technical courses; and banks in India are now increasing the flexibility of this loan in terms of repay period to attract more students. There are many Companies offering Student Loan now. Student’s loans actually cover the tuition fee, hostel fee, library charges, administrative charges which are necessary to get admission in a reputed business school. In this case, we need to mention about Student Loans in Australia as higher education fees in Australia are charged to all students, but Australian citizens and permanent residents are exempted from interest free loans from the government under the Higher Education Loan Programme.

Its been noticed that most students are coming through Commonwealth supported programmes, which means the Commonwealth Government pays a contribution to the fees and students are able to defer payment of the remainder of the fees. Thus, Student Loans have their own set of advantages.
